Gouden Pet - Street Musicians Competition 4 july 2010
The Gouden Pet is known country wide as one of the largest street-musicians festivals and regionally as one of the most important cultural events. It is a competition for street musicians, who are allowed to showcase their art throughout the entire Leiden city centre. Choirs, close harmony groups, folksingers with a guitar, sentimental tearjerker singers accompanied by an accordion, experienced and novice talent can all be taken in by an enthusiastic public. Six finalists will perform at the end of the day on a stage in the city centre. The public decides thereafter on the winner by ballot. The winner receives the Gouden Pet and a cash prize.
